Passed away: September 8, 2007
Susana Wiens, age 86, formerly of Wymark, passed away at the Prairie Pioneer Lodge on Saturday, September 8, 2007 with her family by her side. Susana was born May 8, 1921 to Peter W. and Anna (Froese) Dyck in the Montford district, Sask. She was united in marriage to David Wiens on November 10, 1946 in Wymark, SK. They lived in Wymark and raised their family there. Susana was a gentle, loving person who was always willing to help others. She made many wool quilts over the years for other people and her family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mom always made sure everyone who came to her house had a cup of coffee and lots of food; no one ever left her home hungry. On May 17, 2004 Mom was admitted to the Prairie Pioneer Lodge, where she received excellent care. Susana is survived by her children, Eleanor Knelsen, Edward (Leona) Wiens, Anna (John) Fehr, Johnny Wiens, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Brothers, John Dyck, Isaac (Ann) Dyck, Jake (Betty) Dyck, Hank (Eva) Dyck, Ben (Leona) Dyck, all of Swift Current. Sisters, twin Anna Penner of Swift Current and Agnes (Abe) Wiens, Tisdale, SK. Sister-in-law Anne Toews, Swift Current, and many nieces and nephews. Susana was predeceased by her husband, David Wiens (1982), son-in-law Joseph Knelsen (2002) parents Peter W. Dyck and Anna (Froese) Dyck. Two brothers William Dyck and David Dyck. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 2:00 pm from the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church in Schoenfeld, SK with Reverend Abe Funk Officiating. The interment was at the Schantzenfeld Cemetery. Pallbearers were all her grandsons: Perry Knelsen, Michael Wiens, Stevan Wiens, Eddie Fehr, Danny Fehr, and Terry Fehr. Arrangements were entrusted to the Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK. Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Unit at the Prairie Pioneer Lodge Auxiliary, Swift Current, SK.
