 |
Marjorie Ruth McCrie went home to be with the Lord on October 2, 2007 at the Swift Current Care Center. Marje, the youngest child of David and Martha Coulthard, was born on November 28, 1922 in Crystal City, Manitoba. Marje completed her schooling in Pilot Mound, Manitoba and later moved to Winnipeg to complete a business course. She worked for the Toronto Dominion Bank and was transferred in 1943 to Kyle, Saskatchewan. She married Walter McCrie on October 15, 1945 in Winnipeg. They farmed south of Kyle for many years and raised three daughters and one son. She was deeply devoted to her family and friends as well as involved in the Kyle United Church and Kyle Community. For almost 4 years Marje lived at the Swift Current Care Center where she was given great care and love by all the staff. Marje’s husband, Walt, predeceased her in 2003. She was also predeceased by her sister, Kae Guilford, and her two brothers, Gerry and Keith Coulthard. Marje leaves to cherish her memory her eldest daughter, Beverly (Bob) Williamson of Belmont, Manitoba and their family: Roberta & Roger Tichon and their children Monica, Joel, and Michael, Charles Sloane, Dennis Sloane, Scott & Jennifer Williamson, and Michelle Williamson. Daughter, Gail (Ron) Siemens of Swift Current and their family: Chris & Lori Siemens and their son, Elijah Siemens, Mark & Julie Siemens, and Brent Siemens. Daughter, Nancy (Dave) Franz of Swift Current and their two sons, Eric and Michael Franz. Youngest child and only son, Gerry McCrie, who farms the family farm south of Kyle. Her family will deeply miss her love, her smiles, her encouraging words, and of course her hugs and kisses. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 2:00 pm from the Kyle United Church, Kyle, SK with Venerable Rob Hardwick officiating. The pianist for the service was Bob Williamson accompanied by Michelle Williamson on the guitar. Scripture readings were read by Dennis from Isaiah 40:26, 28b-31, Roberta from Philippians 4:4-7 and by Brent from 2 Corinthians 5:1-10. “Just a Closer Walk with Thee”, “What a Friend We Have In Jesus”, “He Knows My Name”, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace” were sung by the congregation. The life history and eulogy was shared by the children and by grandchildren, Chris Siemens and Eric Franz. The soloist, Sandy Davidson, sang “In the Garden” accompanied by Darlene Smith on the piano. The ushers in the church were Jay Sorenson and Jake Waldner. The recessional was led by piper, Neil McCrie, playing “Amazing Grace“. The Interment was held at the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK with the following serving as pallbearers, Chris Siemens, Roberta Tichon, Mark Siemens, Michelle Williamson, Brent Siemens, Dennis Sloane, Scott Williamson, Eric Franz, Michael Franz and Charles Sloane. In memory of Mrs. Marje McCrie, donations made to the Swift Current Care Centre Auxiliary or to the Kyle United Church would be appreciated by the family.
