Name: Derek Wiebe

Passed away: November 9, 2007
Derek Kurt Wiebe was born to Walter and Clara Wiebe on August 19, 1976. He was the youngest of three sons. Derek attended school in Herbert and graduated in 1994. He worked at various jobs starting with Austin Tide, REM Manufacturing, construction with his brother Duane and most recently he enjoyed working as an equipment operator for the RM of Morse. Derek was a talented, gentle, kind, and quiet person. He leaves to mourn his loving parents, Walter and Clara Wiebe; his two older brothers, Duane (Michele) Wiebe, Caleb and Noah of Regina, SK: Doyle (Sherry) Wiebe, Jenaya, Gracien, Reagen, and Alia of Three Hills, AB. He will be missed by his extended family, neighbors, friends and co-workers. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 2:30 pm from the Mennonite Brethren Church, Herbert, SK with Pastor Bob Capelle officiating. The musicians for the service were Henry & Vivian Thiessen. “What a Friend We Have In Jesus”, “Amazing Grace” and “There Is a Redeemer” were sung by the congregation. The eulogy was shared by Duane Wiebe. The Private Family Interment preceded the Funeral Service and was held at the Herbert Cemetery, Herbert, SK with the following serving as pallbearers, Bruce Wiebe, Cliff Wiebe, Steve Wiebe, Greg Siemens, Ken Froese and Kevin Epp. For those wishing, donations made in Derek’s memory to the West Bank Bible Camp would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
