Name: Lester Hall

Passed away: November 20, 2007
Lester Cecil Hall was born on February 9, 1922, in the Doctor’s office in Morse, SK, to Cecil and Mildred Hall. On November 20, 2007, at the age of 85 years, Lester crossed over. Lester was the only son of three children. Lester and his two sisters, Marion and Elsie, were raised on the farm at Droxford, SK. In 1939, Lester joined the army where he drove munitions trucks to the front lines. In 1946, Lester returned home, safe and sound, to his family. Lester married Margaret Stevenson of Tompkins, SK on November 9, 1949. They had four children, Gayle, Robert, and the twins, Jessie and Janet. Lester later remarried on May 5, 1990 to Dorothy Ford. Lester was predeceased by his father, Cecil; his mother, Mildred; his first wife, Margaret; his second wife, Dorothy; and by his sister, Elsie. He is survived by his daughters, Gayle, Jessie and Janet; his son, Rob; his eight granddaughters, Leslee, Jennifer, Laura, Cyndi, Jamie, Kim, Meghan, Britney; his only grandson, Shaun; his great-grandchildren, Etana, Kiara, Adian, Daniel, Sabian, Abby, Austin, Joie, Katie, Rybbon; his great-great-grandson, Dagonie; his sister, Marion; and by numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, November 23, 2007 at 2:00 pm from the First United Church, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Christine Ciona officiating. The organist was Marilyn King. “In the Garden”, “His Eye Is On the Sparrow” and “With Someone Like You” were sung by the congregation. The eulogy and tribute was shared by his grandson, Shaun. “Amazing Grace” was sung and played by his granddaughter, Jamie. A special number “Tennessee Waltz” was played by violinist, Margaret Doyle. The ushers in the church were Chad Hehr and Trent Cundert. Honorary pallbearers were “All of Lester’s Granddaughters”. The Honor Guard was performed by the Royal Canadian Legion. The private family Interment was held at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery - Veterans Section, Swift Current, SK. For those wishing, donations made to the Alzheimer Association or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
