Name: Clarence Francis

Passed away: December 5, 2007
Clarence Francis passed away peacefully on December 5th , 2007 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on the farm north of Herbert, SK on July 31, 1914 and spent his life doing what he loved - FARMING. He first farmed with his father and then on his own farm. He was still buying equipment at 90 years of age. In his spare time he enjoyed curling and playing baseball as a pitcher. Clarence was also a lifetime member of the Lions Club. Clarence was predeceased by his first wife, Marion (Wiebe); an infant daughter, Holly; his brother and wife, Raymond & Edith Francis; his sisters and their husbands, Ruby & Bob Ball and Gladys & Dave Ball. He is survived by his wife, Anne (nee Imrie); his step-children, Sherry Martineau of Salt Lake City, Utah, Peggy (Grant) Brooker of Kelowna, BC, Richard (Peggy) Haire of Abbotsford, BC; 14 Grandchildren; 21 Great-grandchildren; a brother, Doug (Jeanine) Francis of Herbert, SK; a sister, Lil Corothers of Lethbridge, AB; and by numerous nieces and nephews. The Memorial Service was held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 1:30 pm from the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Herbert, SK with Rev. Terry Simonson officiating. The organist for the service was Marion Solberg. “Abide With Me”, “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art” were sung by the congregation. The eulogy was shared by Dorothy Ball and Richard Haire. The ushers in the church were Brian Jahnke and Harvey Schultz. The Interment preceded the Memorial Service and was held at the Herbert Cemetery, Herbert, SK with the following serving as pallbearers, Lane Francis, Troy McInnis, Greg McInnis and Aaron Francis. In memory of Clarence Francis, donations made to the Herbert & District Integrated Health Care Facility Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
