Agatha (Schulz) Penner of the Herbert Nursing Home, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at the age of 89. Agatha was born on June 17, 1918 on the family farm near Gouldtown, SK. On August 4, 1942, she was united in marriage to Henry P. Penner. They lived in the Gouldtown area and then moved to Tisdale, SK for approximately five years. They then moved back to Gouldtown, SK where they resided until Henry’s passing in 1985. Mom continued to live in Gouldtown for two more years. She then moved into the Golden West Manor in Swift Current, SK where she lived for approximately eleven years. In 2001, Mom moved to the Herbert Heritage Manor and lived there until she was hospitalized and then took up residency in the Herbert Nursing Home until her passing. Mom & Dad celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary in August 1982. Mom was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved visits from her family and friends. Mom had a very strong faith in her Lord and Savior, and she loved to share her faith with others. Her daily prayers will be missed by her family. Mom loved to cook and loved to share her cooking and baking with those around her. Mom also liked to spend time in her garden. She also made many quilts and embroidered pillowcases for all of her family. She taught Sunday School and was an avid supporter of Back to the Bible.
Agatha is survived by her daughters, Lenore (Harvey) Wentland - granddaughter, Janelle (Gregg) Schlaalje - great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Mac: grandson, Jayson Wentland - great-grandson, Carson Jay: Leona (Dawson) Samuelson - granddaughter, Melanie (Mike) Kehler - great-grandchildren, Braden and Amy: grandson, Ryan (Kim) Samuelson - great-grandson, Rone; a daughter-in-law, Joan Penner - granddaughter, Laurie (Craig) Vik - great-granddaughters, Taylor and Sydney: grandson - Trevor Penner; her daughters, Audrey (Robert) Ballie - granddaughter, Corissa (David) Dale - great-granddaughters, Randi and Baillie: grandson, Christopher Baillie - great-grandsons, Seth and Trey: Dolores (Randy) Ens - grandson, Jeremy (Shauna) Ens - great-grandchildren, Colista and Damion: grandson, Jody Ens: granddaughter, Jillian Ens: granddaughter, Jaelynn Ens; a sister, Anne Derksen; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry, November 1985; a son, Albert, June 1978; her parents, Aron & Helena Schulz; numerous brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. Agatha will be fondly missed by all who knew her. Go rest high on your mountain, Mom, for your work on earth is done. We will love you forever.The Funeral Service was held on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the Living Faith Fellowship Church, Herbert, SK with Pastor Donovan Epp and Pastor Randall Krahn officiating. The pianist was Diane Peters with soloist Lenore Wentland singing, “Serenaded By Angels”. Tributes were shared by Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. The ushers were Ron Schultz and Harry Friesen. The Interment preceded the Service and took place at the Herbert Cemetery. For those wishing. Donations to Gideons International would be appreciated by the family.
