Andrew Thomas was born on April 27, 1921 on the family farm in the Arbuthnot (Glenbain) district . He passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK at the age of 86.
His pastime was visiting with family and friends.  He also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, traveling, and most of all, fishing. Andrew and Gertrude Wornath were married on November 25, 1961. He was a farmer in the Arbuthnot (Glenbain) district for a number of years, until his health forced him to retire. He moved to Swift Current in 1982.
Andrew was predeceased by his parents, James & Anna Marie Thomas (Miller); three brothers, Joseph Thomas, James Thomas and Conrad Thomas; a brother-in-law, Tony Grill; and a sister-in-law, Magdelina Thomas. From Gertrude’s family, he was also predeceased by seven brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; one niece and one nephew. Andrew is survived by his wife, Gertrude, of 46 years; a sister, Elizabeth Grill, Regina, SK; a sister-in-law, Adaline Thomas, Gravelbourg, SK; and by numerous nieces and nephews. From Gertrude’s family he is survived by five sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as the many friends he’s made over the years.
The Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 11:00 am from the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Sathiadas Antony officiating. Readers were Don Stratilo and Jim Grill. Ushers were Murray Senicar, Art Straub, Don Luciak and Roger Bertrand. Pallbearers were: Jim and Gloria Grill, Randy and Trudy Grill, Frank and Betty Thomas, Bill and Chris Thomas, Bob and Mary Corcoran, Dan and Marie Waechter.
Interment took place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, Sask. Arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home
