Mr. Larry A. Kelly of Swift Current passed away at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the age of 72 years. Larry was born in Swift Current on November 27, 1935. He married Sylvia Brown in 1957, in Swift Current. Larry worked his whole life in the oil and gas industry in Alberta, Southern Saskatchewan and Overseas. He lived in the Coleville area where he and his wife, Sylvia, started L & S Consulting Ltd. He later moved to Kipling to work with Tri-Link Resources. While in Kipling, Larry was actively involved with the Kipling & District Lions Club, the Town Council and at the Christ Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working in his yard, bird watching and spending time with family and friends. He moved back to Swift Current in 2006. Larry is survived by his wife, Sylvia; three daughters; seven grandchildren; his mother, Anne Kelly, of Swift Current; a sister; and a brother. The Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the Swift Current Funeral Chapel, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Brad Julien officiating. The pianist for the service was Arlene Olson with hymns, “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace” as special music. The eulogy was shared by Amanda Gulka. In memory of Larry Kelly, donations made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
