Isaac Ginter, age 72 years, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current. Isaac leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Hilda; his two brothers, William & Helen Ginter and Jake & Anne Ginter; his three sisters, Kaye & Bill Neustaeter, Margaret Janzen and Stella & Frank Dyck; his sister-in-law, Tina Ginter; as well as Hilda’s family: Annie & Bill Neustaeter, Tina Kehler, Mary Kehler and Hilda Keller; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Anna, (1969); his father, Abraham, (1975); three brothers, Abe, in infancy (1918), John (1961) and Abe (1983); and three sisters, Helen (1950), Mary (2004) and Anne (2007). Isaac was born on June 3, 1936 in the village of Chortitz (near Swift Current) to Abraham & Anna (Fehr) Ginter. He was born in a farming community and loved the farming life. He bought his own land when he was able and achieved the dream of farming a full section before he and Hilda retired from the farm. However, farming did not provide the income needed and so he went to work for the CPR in the Swift Current yard. He served the company for 39 years until his retirement in 1996. Whether on the farm, at the CPR yard, or doing his own yard work or for his neighbors, Isaac was a hard working man and enjoyed the work he did. On September 15, 1963, Isaac married the love of his life, Hilda Kehler, and the two enjoyed 45 years together. Whether working or relaxing, socializing or doing business, when possible, Isaac & Hilda did it together. In 1965, they joined the Emmaus Mennonite Church where Isaac was a quiet but very helpful member. Isaac will be missed by all who knew him as a brother, uncle and friend. But he will be especially missed by his wife, Hilda. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the Zion Mennonite Church, Swift Current, SK with Pastors Ray & Sylvia Friesen officiating.
