Susan Matilda Froese went to be with her Lord & Savior on Monday, November 10, 2008, at the age of 57, after courageously fighting a major health issue. She was the fourth child born to Peter & Susie Schlamp on September 11, 1951 at Swift Current, SK. She received her education at Iris & Wymark schools. She was baptized upon the confession of her faith during her teen years. She then attended Bible School at Steinbach, MB for one year. Ernest & Susan were united in marriage on September 22, 1972. They lived in Rosenhof all of their married life. They were members of the EM Church at Chortitz for 40 years and for the last 7 – 8 years they have been involved at the Victory Family Church. In their early years Susan worked as a Certified Dental Assistant. Her true gifting showed up later when she became the “Sales Entrepreneur” of Rosenhof. Susan loved to garden, play piano and guitar, sing with her sisters, go shopping – never missing a good deal, and let’s not forget the phone. She had a phone ministry which consisted of selling, socializing and hours of counseling. Her life may best be described by her compassion for people and her passion for evangelism. Susan leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Ernest, of 36 years; three sons, Jerry (Stacy) & grandson, Matthew: the twins - Gene (Chelsea), and Murray (Twyla) & grandchildren, Steven, Tristen, Sydnee; her parents, Peter & Susie Schlamp; her brothers, Henry Schlamp (Anne), Edwin Schlamp (Audrey); her sisters, Emily Froese (Isaac), Carole Martens (Jim), Mary Henderson (Steve); her mother-in-law, Tina Froese; one brother-in-law, John Froese (Helen); five sisters-in-laws, Kathy Henderson (Phil), Trudy Olfert (Ron), Marion Ginter (Dave), Carrie Giesbrecht (Randy), Darlene Friesen (Gary); as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Susan was a woman of great faith and a powerful intercessor. She will be greatly missed, but her prayers will continue to impact this world and everyone she came in contact with. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the Bridgeway Community Church, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Lorne Davis of the Victory Family Church officiating. The pianist for the service was Mary Henderson. The congregation joined in singing choruses led by a worship team from the Victory Family Church. The eulogy was brought by Henry Schlamp on behalf of Susan’s siblings with Pastor Lorne Davis reading the life history. Jerry, Murray & Geno Froese shared tributes to “Mom” with Marion Ginter also sharing a tribute to her sister-in-law. Musical selections were brought by Carole Martens, Mary Henderson & Jerry Froese singing, “Master of the Wind”, Don Mathies singing, “In Christ Alone” and Christina Ginter singing, “Legacy”. The ushers in the church were Darwin Plewis, Doug Martens, Bill Dyck and Dave Wiebe. The Interment Service was held at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK with the following serving as pallbearers, Leon Froese, Stacey Henderson, Steve Froese, Dustin Mathies, Terry Mitchell and Jordan Friesen. In memory of Susan Froese, donations made to the Victory Family Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
