John was born on February 12, 1936, in Moose Jaw, SK to John and Lilian Benallack. John received his Diploma in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and later became a Journeyman Welder. With this training, he opened his own shop, J. Benallack Welding Ltd., in 1982, where he worked until his retirement. John was a hard worker and was very proud of his business. John loved to work.
