Name: Ida Berg

Passed away:  August 25, 2009

Ida Berg passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at the age of 83 years. Ida was born in Ilow, Poland, on March 4, 1926, to Rudolph & Olga Kleister, where she resided with her sister, Della, and brother, Arthur. The family lived on a farm where her mother raised the children and her father worked in the coal mines. Following her mother’s death at an early age, her father remarried and she then gained two half-sisters, Bertha and Fredle, as well as one half-brother, Otto.  At age 21, she met and married Robert Berg, on July 11, 1947, and moved to Stettien, Germany. They had a daughter, Erica, and a son, Ralph. They immigrated to Canada in February of 1950, and came to reside in Shackleton, SK until 1981, when they moved to Cabri, SK. They had a hard but happy life. Ida was a happy, hardworking house wife who made many delicious meals and the best baking. She especially loved visiting with her children, Ralph and Erica, and grandchildren, Melanie, Tracy, Tammy, Scott, Susanne and Karilyn. She was a wonderful grandma expecting them every Monday for lunch and enjoying every visit. She also had the great joy of getting to know her precious great-grandchildren, Meryck and Meysa. She looked forward to each visit, dancing, singing and laughing whenever she would see them. She had a lot of great family gatherings on her deck in Cabri, with friends and family alike. Ida is survived by her daughter, Erica Undseth; and her children: Melanie (Murray) Moffat and their son, Meryck, and daughter, Meysa: Tracy (Neil) Gegenbauer: Tammy (Arden) Bowerman: Scott Undseth; daughter-in-law, Karen Berg; and her children: Susanne and Karilyn Berg; her half-brother, Otto (Monica) Kleister; her half-sister, Fredle (Frank) Kocke; nieces and nephews: Fred Berg and family, Alice Kremlica and family, Rally Ulan and family, Heinz Pyszczyk and family, Bill and Miamo Gotzman; as well as numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Berg; her parents, Rudolph & Olga Kleister; her brother, Arthur Kleister; her sister, Della Pyszczyk (Walter); her son, Ralph Berg; her half-sister, Bertha Kleister; her son-in-law, John Minor; a brother-in-law, Edward Berg (Wanda); a sister-in-law, Olga Gotzman (Gus); and by a niece, Martha Gotzman.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
