HADDEN, Irene Miriam of Cabri, SK passed away October 1, 2009 at the age of 80 years at the Cypress Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Irene is survived by her four children Bonnie (Dwayne) Haley of Cabri, Shirley (Glen) Smeby of Medicine Hat, Clayton (Paulette) Hadden of Cabri, Della Mae Hadden of Red Deer; their father Gary Hadden. Proud grandmother of six grandchildren, Crystal and Tyler Hadden, Devin and Jenna Haley, Darren and Jason Smeby. Irene also leaves to cherish her memory one sister Donna (Ron) Wilhelm of Webb and her family; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Ole and Janet Olimb and a special Aunt who was her mothers identical twin, Jean (Jack) Mundell. Irene was born and raised in Cabri and started her schooling at Butte Valley and later attended Cabri School. As a child Irene loved to skate and curl, many hours were spent at the rink. In later years she never missed watching a curling game on TV. Irene worked as a telephone operator for 13 years. Her experience earned her the title "Chief Operator". She also spent some time working for Canada Post. Irene was a farmer at heart and enjoyed being a part of harvest. Irene was truly devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She showed great courage and strength through her life's journey. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends but they are comforted to know that she is at peace. Funeral services were held in the Cabri United Church at 2:00 on October 5, 2009 with Reverend Maxine Pirie officiating. Interment took place at the Cabri Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy those wishing to remember Irene may do so with a gift to the Cabri Hospital Auxiliary Box 79 Cabri, SK SON OJO or to the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Health Foundation Renal Dialysis Box 1706 Swift Current, SK S9H 4G6. The family would like to thank Dr. DeNysschen for his excellent care over the years. As well, the care from Cabri Hospital and Home Care, Swift Current Hospital Renal Dialysis, volunteer drivers, and the Swift Current Care Centre. Funeral arrangements are by the Swift Current Funeral Home.
