Marvin was born August 6, 1935 at the Swift Current Union Hospital. He grew up in the McMahon/Rhineland area. Marvin and his father farmed here in 1954, which is also the year he married, eventually raising four children. In 1957, he moved to the Webb area, starting a trucking company while still farming with his father. In 1959, the family moved to Coaldale, AB where the family ran a dairy farm. They later moved back to the Webb area in 1962, to continue farming until 1987. During this time, in 1973, he purchased the Rainbow Motel with his sister, Dorothy. In 1983, he met Jeanette and they were married in 1985 and enjoyed a much larger family. In 1984, he financed the opening of Venice House with his daughter, Patricia. They sold the farm in 1987, and moved to Saskatoon where they purchased a mobile home park. They eventually moved back to Swift Current in 1992, where they purchased Atlas Trailer Court renaming it Jenmar Developments and building Leisure Wheels. During this time, Marvin began Atlas Sanitary Service. In 1999, he discovered he had multiple mieloma and after years of hard work making the park a success, he decided to sell. In his retirement years he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and wintering in Palm Springs. He enjoyed taking care of his trees on his Kubota and cutting wood for his stove in the shop, but he always knew when Jeanette had his lunch ready. Marvin was predeceased by his mother, Margaret. He eventually lost his struggle with cancer and went to be with our Lord on October 1, 2009.
