Passed away: November 2, 2009

Anne Tschetter (nee Kehler) age 77 years, of Swift Current, SK, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK, due to complications resulting from a lengthy battle with leukemia. Anne was born on January 24, 1932, in Schoenfeld, SK to Philip & Aganetha Kehler. Being the youngest of 9 children, she grew up babysitting nieces and nephews and helping with household chores. Later, she worked in her brother, Frank’s, store. She also spent some summers in BC, berry-picking with her sister, returning to work at the Swift Current Union Hospital. Anne married Cornelius Tschetter on June 2, 1957, settling on a farm in the Neville area, where they later raised their family of 3 children. In 1986, they retired and moved to Swift Current. Anne enjoyed drives to the country to look at the crops and cattle herds on the family farm. She very much enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren as well. She also enjoyed music and during the retirement years, spent many hours playing her piano and organ. Anne is lovingly remembered by her husband, Cornelius; her daughter, Loreen Wiebe of Swift Current, SK and her daughter, Carolynn; her sons, Lionel (Matilda) Tschetter of Neville, SK and their children, Tim, Brian and Karlee: Clarence (Brenda) Tschetter of Neville, SK and their children, Craig, Chris, Dustin and Jaelynn; her sister, Agnes Krahn of Abbotsford, BC; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father in 1946; her mother in 1950; her sisters, Katherine Kehler, Mary Peters and Helen Ens; and by her brothers, Jake, Frank, Cornelius and John. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 1:00 pm from the Community Baptist Church, Swift Current, SK with Rev. Martin Harder officiating. The pianist for the service was Dianne Janzen with John Kehler as service leader. “Blessed Assurance”, “Day By Day” and What a “Friend We Have in Jesus” were sung by the congregation under the direction of Pastor Joell Haugan. Special music was brought by Martin & Anne Harder. The Interment Service was held at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK with the following serving as pallbearers, John Peters, Arnold Ens, Rick Kehler, Lonnie Ens, Ed Kehler and Sid Koethler. In memory of Anne Tschetter, donations made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK was in care of arrangements.
