Welcome to the memorial page for

Abe J. Wiebe

September 17, 2016

Abram (Abe J.) Wiebe — beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather — passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, SK at the age of 88 years, 3 months, 4 days, with his family by his side. Abe was born on June 13, 1928 in the Wymark district to Johan & Maria Wiebe. He worked hard on the family farm with his siblings — he was fourth youngest of twelve children. Abe's commitment to his Lord and Saviour led him to be baptized in his adult life. On November 4, 1956 Abe married Margaret Dyck. Their marriage was guided by their strong faith in Jesus Christ. Together they raised five children. Abe was a hard worker and instilled strong work ethics in his children. With the use of his own gravel truck, Abe aided in the construction of Highway #1. He also drove for Pepsi and Honey Boy Bread. He then found his passion for car sales at Great West Motors, which became Wilton Motors in the mid-seventies. He held the position of General Manager until his retirement. As a retirement hobby, he worked for Rodeo Sales — you were in for a good tease if you drove something other than a Ford. Abe is survived by his children, Brenda (Wayne) Moss, Ron (Betty) Wiebe, Sandy Davis, Stacey (Shannon) Wiebe, and Terry Wiebe; his grandchildren, Tanya (Chance) Duperreault and Scott (Kandice) Moss: Krystal (Stefan) Lefebvre: TJ and Colton Balisky: Landon and Carson Davis: Ashley (Reid) McKone, Andrew, Blandine, and Jerry Wiebe: and Melissa Sawicki; his great-grandchildren, Elle and Jake Duperreault, Oliver Moss, Emma and Wyatt Lefebvre, Jayea and Gwen McKone, and Ryley; his brother, Harry (Susan) Wiebe; his sister, Tina Krahn; and by many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Abe was predeceased by his first wife, Agnes; his beloved wife of 51 years, Margaret, in 2008; his son-in-law, Bill Davis; his parents, Johan & Maria Wiebe; his siblings, John & Kathleen Wiebe (second wife, Agatha), Ben Wiebe, Jake Wiebe, Dave Wiebe, Nick & Agnes Wiebe, Peter Wiebe, Mary & George Rempel, George & Gladys Wiebe, and Margaretha Wiebe; and by many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Terry's dedication to the care and well-being of his father Abe, for the past eight years, will always be appreciated and recognized by the family.

The Funeral Service was held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 1:30 pm from the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church, Schoenfeld, SK with Rev. Abe Funk officiating. The Interment Service was held at the Rosenhof Sommerfeld Cemetery, Rosenhof, SK with the following grandsons serving as pallbearers, Scott Moss, Chance Duperreault, Landon Davis, Carson Davis, Andrew Wiebe, Jerry Wiebe and Reid McKone.
