Welcome to the memorial page for

Annie Dyck

August 22, 2016

Anne Dyck, age 98, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to the sixth generation, peacefully went to meet her Savior on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 12:50 AM. In her typical fashion, never wanting to put anyone out, she waited until we had gone home for the night, then she slipped away. Anne was born on October 2, 1917, the third child of eleven children born to David & Agnes Wiebe. The family moved numerous times during the late 1920’s and early 1930’s when times were hard. Because of this, she attended several different schools. Anne was always a very hard worker, helping her mother with the younger children and her father with the farming – even stooking sheaves in harvest time. Anne accepted the Lord at an altar call during the revival meeting in the Green Farm Church. Her scripture verse was John 14:6 “Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but by Me.” Anne married Isaac Dyck on November 18, 1938. They were married for 50 years through good times, some not-so-good times, and many great times. They lived most of their married life in a small house on the Dyck family homestead. Anne always had a huge garden and was the designated person in the family who milked the cow. They never had running water on the farm so that made life more difficult for her, but she never complained. Anne was always the happiest when she was serving someone. Their humble home – their Little House on the Prairie – was filled with love, laughter, and guests who never left hungry. Anne made the most incredible meals from seemingly nothing – fresh veggies and farm cream became delicious soup, always accompanied by the most lucka (perfect textured) buns. They sold the farm and retired to Herbert, where she again had a large garden that included fruit trees. The produce was used to make jams and jellies to go with the freshly baked buns. Anne leaves her loving family to celebrate her reunion with her Lord and with her loved ones who have gone before. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Isaac; her daughter, Linda Kunze; her sons-in-law, Frank Kunze and Michael Moran; her grandson, Ryan Klassen; her great-grandson, Stephen McHardy; her siblings, Tena McLachlin (Willy), John Wiebe, Dan Wiebe, Olga Klassen (Jack), Agnes Wiebe, Dave Wiebe; a sister-in-law, Lena Wiebe; all of her husband’s siblings and in-laws; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by her children and their families, Irene Moran –  Monica & Mitch McHardy, (Christy & Albert and Kelsea & Daniel), Quintin Hamm (Cory & Erin and Kimberly & Nathan), Rockey Hamm: Cory Kunze, Joe & Celia Kunze (Victoria and Caitlin): Olga & Richard Kroeker – Daryl Kroeker (Tristin and Cheyenne): Lorraine & CJ Klassen – Rachel & Jay Johnston (Wyatt and Liberty), Robert Klassen; great-grandson, Kylan Klassen;  her siblings, Ben Wiebe, Hulda & Isaac Wiebe, Selma & John Rempel, Jake & Mary Lee Wiebe; her sisters-in-law, Anne Wiebe, Velma Wiebe, Claudette Wiebe; and by many nieces, nephews and a few dear friends. We were blessed to have such wonderful parents. They raised us with gentleness and love. Every time we would part, we were always told “I love you!” Even in her twilight years, mom loved and was loved by all of those around her. Mom was a witness of the Lord she served and what a true Christian looks like throughout her lifetime by her actions, deeds, and words. We can only pray that we can do half as well.

The Funeral Service was held on Friday, August 26, 2016 from the Living Faith Fellowship Church, Herbert, SK with Pastor Lincoln Vellacott officiating. The pianist for the service was Diane Peters. “They that wait Upon the Lord”, “The Longer I Serve Him”, “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” and “What a Day that Will Be” were sung by the congregation. The obituary and memories was shared by Pastor Lincoln Vellacott. The ushers in the church were Don Fast and Brent Hackney. The Interment Service preceded the Funeral Service and was held at the Herbert Cemetery, Herbert, SK with the following serving as pallbearers, CJ Klassen, Robert Klassen, Jay Johnston and Joe Kunze.
