Clifford Schuler, age 87, passed peacefully into eternity on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. Clifford William Schuler was born July 7, 1929 in Tuberose, SK to William & Alice Schuler. He married Delores Mae Westgard in 1952. Clifford farmed in the White Bear, SK area for many years, selling in 1973 and relocating to Saskatoon, SK. While on the farm, Clifford also worked on the railroad, drove the White Bear school bus, and worked for the RM, all the while maintaining a mixed farm with horses, cows, sheep and pigs. His passion was chuck wagon and chariot racing. His second passion was teasing all family members and everyone he met. After quitting smoking, he became widely known as the “candy man.” Clifford is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Delores Westgard; his children, Diane (Patrick) Taylor, Debbie (Laurie) Hardy, Faye (Per) Thowsen, William (Lonita) Schuler, Timothy (Jacqueline) Schuler, Janice (Ryan) Tynning, Rhonda (Ricky) Iula; his fourteen grandchildren; and by his thirteen great-grandchildren. The Schuler family would like to thank all the friends and neighbours for their generosity and support given through this difficult time.
A Private Family Memorial Service was held in the Swift Current Funeral Home Chapel, Swift Current, SK on Saturday, December 3, 2016. The Interment Service will be held at White Bear Cemetery, White Bear, SK at a later date.
