Clifford Veer

Clifford Gordon Veer, age 81, passed away after a brief and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current. Cliff was born on the family farm north of Waldeck, SK on February 8, 1935, to Jacob & Jessie Veer. Cliff and Sharon were married in 1963. They lived on the family farm and also raised their family there, only moving to Swift Current in November, 2014. Cliff is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon, of 52 years; his beloved children: Jody (Pam), Lisa, Stacey (Jerry) Causier, Barb (Sheldon) Hess; his grandchildren: Maygen (Rene) Alexandre, MacKenna, Rowan, and Logan Causier, Duncan and Chloe Hess; a great- granddaughter, Avaeah; his  chosen grandchildren, Nicole and Taylor Dixon, Brooklyn Thomson and Brody and Karsyn Alexandre; his sisters, Leona (Mac) Paton, and Grace Cook; and by a large extended family. He was predeceased by an infant grandson, Joshua Mark Causier, in 1992; his sister, Dorothy (Mel) Metz; and by his brothers, Edwin and Wes Veer.

The Funeral Service was held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the First United Church in Swift Current, SK with Rev. Annette Taylor officiating. The pianist for the service was Joan Williamson. “How Great Thou Art” and “Precious Lord” were sung by the congregation. The eulogy was brought by Jerry Causier and the tributes were shared by Cliff’s children and grandchildren. The ushers in the church were Larry Hill, Norris Currie, Ken & Linda Benson and Don & Marilyn Szakacs. The Private Family Interment will be held at a later date. In memory of Clifford Veer, donations made to the Dr. Noble Irwin Healthcare Foundation – Long Term Care would be appreciated by the family.
