Elmer Hildebrand

Elmer Hildebrand, age 75, passed away after a short battle with cancer, on Monday, July 13, 2015, at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK, surrounded by his family.Elmer was predeceased by his parents, John & Katherine Hildebrand; an infant sister, Henrietta Hildebrand; an infant son, Jacob Hildebrand; and by a grandson, Tanner Hildebrand. He is survived by his sons, John, Eon and Clayton; his grandchildren, Brandon, Dillon, Raven, Jake, and one due in December 2015; a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn; his sisters, Esther Lepp and Elsie Harder; his brother, Raymond Hildebrand; and by numerous nieces and nephews.Elmer was born on November 28, 1939, at Herbert, SK. He grew up on the family farm north of Gouldtown. Elmer and Mary Dueck were married in 1961 and to this union their four boys were born. Elmer worked at various jobs, but kept farming as a sideline his whole life. He purchased grain for 13 years and worked on road construction for 35 years until he retired in 2012. In Elmer’s younger years, he loved to curl, play cribbage, football and hockey.The family would like to thank the Doctors and nurses at Swift Current and Regina and also the First Responders for their services and care.

The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Living Faith Fellowship Church, Herbert, SK with Jake Peters officiating. The pianist for the service was Diane Peters. “Amazing Grace”, “Shall We Gather at the River” and “How Great Thou Art” were sung by the congregation. Tributes were shared by his Sons, John and Clayton. The Interment Service was held at the Gouldtown Cemetery, Gouldtown, SK with the following serving as pallbearers, Dillon Hildebrand, Russell Hildebrand, Ray Hildebrand, Russell Hildebrand, Dave Meyers, Gary Fast, and Menno Harder.
