Harry Obert Sather, age 92, passed away on Friday, April 15th, at the Kyle Care Center where he was a resident since 2010. He was born November 20th, 1923 at Tuberose, Saskatchewan. Harry was the elder of 2 boys born to Axel Sather & Tona (Haukum) Sather. Harry grew up on the family homestead. The family also spent some time living at Clearwater Lake and in Kyle. Harry loved tinkering and building things especially during the long winter months. During his childhood his love of music was established and he started to learn the accordion by ear. Harry met May (Pfeifer) Waldner and they were married on Feb 14th 1952 in Saskatoon. Harry & May lived on the homestead where they raised their children. He loved farm life and took great pride in his crops. He was always quick to give of himself and his time to his family and neighbors. In later years Harry played accordion with other local musicians at many old time dances in the area. For years Harry and friends played regularly for the enjoyment of the residents at the Kyle Health Center. Harry will be remembered as a kind and gentle man.
