Irene Ens, age 68, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at The Meadows, Swift Current, SK. Irene Marlene Ens was born June 18, 1949 on the family farm to Ben & Mary Wiebe. She and her four siblings went to school in Rhineland and Wymark. On December 9, 1967 Irene married Jim Ens and they moved to Blumenhof. Together they had three children — Clinton, Wanita, and Darren. The family moved to Swift Current in 1987. Irene leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Jim Ens; her children, Wanita (Eric) Christensen and Darren (Marla) Ens; her grandchildren, Keegan (Traci Holden) Story, Chantal (Brendan Catalano) Story, Shelby Christensen, Jr. Davis, Michelle Davis, and Michael Davis; her great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Braydon, Hailey, and Natalie; her siblings, Johnnie (Muriel) Wiebe, Norman (Carol) Wiebe, and Rhona Hanlon; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Sharon Wiebe, Annie Friesen, Kathleen Ens, Suzie Zacharias, Sarah (Pete) Friesen, Jake (Sylvia) Ens, and John (Irene) Ens; and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Clinton Ens; her parents, Ben & Mary Wiebe; her brother, Elmer Wiebe; and by her brothers-in-law, Frank Ens, Dave Ens, Frank Zacharias, and Abe Friesen.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Irene M. Ens of Swift Current, was held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm from the Swift Current Funeral Chapel in Swift Current with Pastor Randall Krahn officiating. The Private Family Interment Service for Irene Ens will took place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Swift Current. For those wishing, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre Patient Lodge would be appreciated by the family.
