Welcome to the memorial page for

Juverna Austring

July 13, 2016

Juverna Sandra Eileen Austring passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at The Meadows Care Facility at Swift Current, SK and entered into the waiting arms of Jesus, receiving welcoming home hugs. Juverna was born on August 26, 1946, in Swift Current, SK to Ole & Alvina Austring, the seventh child in a family of 10 – seven girls and three boys. She grew up in the Hovdestad district east of Stewart Valley, attending the Hovdestad School until grade 8, then completing her education at Beatty School in Swift Current and at Caronport High School. She attended the Nordland Lutheran Church while growing up and learned the necessity of asking Jesus into your heart, which she did at an early age. Her faith in Christ was her rock all her life. She began working as a teller at the Western Savings Credit Union in Swift Current, and in 1973 she moved to Edmonton and worked at the Scotiabank until moving back to Swift Current in 1999. She worked as a greeter at Walmart until her deteriorating health caused her to quit. She became a resident at the Pioneer Lodge in 2004, moved to the Palliser in 2008, and recently moved into The Meadows facility. Juverna was able to travel with her sister, Marie, to Zaire, Africa in 1974, to visit Don & Oriole (sister) Stewart who were missionaries there. In 1985, Juverna and Marie travelled to Hawaii, a place she wanted to revisit but was not able to. Juverna loved football, cheering for the Edmonton Eskimos and also went to Montreal to see a Grey Cup game. We will remember Juverna for being a loving, sensitive, and generous person. We will recall her laughter and storytelling ability and it will bring smiles and laughter to our hearts. She was predeceased by her parents, Ole & Alvina Austring; and by her sister-in-law, Gayle Austring. She is survived by her sisters, Marie Austring, Arlene (Burnette) Olson, Oriole (Don) Stewart, Dianne (Wilmer) Ens, Dorothy (John) Regier, and Joanne Chanig; her brothers, Wayne Austring, Glen Austring and Jerome (Eva) Austring; and by many loving nieces and nephews. Love you Juverna, and we will meet you again. The Funeral Service was held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Trailview Alliance Church, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Blair Froese officiating. The pianist for the service was Lois Klassen. “He Hideth My Soul”, “Blessed Assurance” and “Because he Lives” were sung by the congregation under the direction of Karan Regier.
