Laurie Penner

Laurie Penner, age 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK.

Laurie Garfield Penner was born August 18, 1953 to Harold & Edith Penner in Lucky Lake, SK and grew up on a farm near the community of Beechy, SK.

Most of his life was spent farming and ranching. Later in life, he worked for Pioneer Grain then drove semis throughout Canada and the USA for a couple of years. Laurie then spent several years being a repo man in Louisiana until coming back to Canada due to health reasons.  When he returned to Beechy, he drove school buses and worked as a farm hand for JRK Farms.

Laurie was an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman. He loved to spend his time outdoors or socializing with his family and friends.

Laurie will be lovingly remembered by his children and grandchildren, his son, Brian Penner (Sarah Dion), and their children, Laura, Bailey, and Cody Penner; his daughter, Roxanne (Charlie) Fleuter, and their children, Sabrina, Kalia, and Saniah Fleuter; his brothers, Dennis (Olga) Penner, Rick (Colleen) Penner, and DeVone (Lorrie) Penner; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Laurie was predeceased by his parents, Harold Stanley & Edith Jenny-Mae Penner (nee Cole).

A private gathering will be held at a later date. Flowers are respectfully declined.
