It is with fond memories and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Maria “Mary” Kennedy, on Monday, December 28, 2015, at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK, at the age of 84 years. Mary will be lovingly remembered by: her sons, Ken (Candace) Kennedy of Red Deer, AB, Dan (Karen) Kennedy of Hodgeville, SK, their children, Travis and Chelsea; her daughters, Charlene Fafard of Moose Jaw, SK, her children, Douglas Fafard, and Lisa (Nic) Chartier: Carol (Allan) Culp of Havre, MT; Betty (Todd) Wright of Medicine Hat, AB, their daughter, Montana: Amy Kennedy of Medicine Hat, AB; her two sisters, Gertrude Siemens of Cranbrook, BC, and Ann Stallard of Norquay, SK; her two brothers, Jake Neufeld of Saskatoon, SK, and Willie (Nancy) Neufeld of Turner Valley, AB; and by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles; her son-in-law, Gerald Fafard; her parents, Maria & Abram Neufeld; and by her brothers, Abe Neufeld and George Neufeld. Mary was born on June 15, 1931 in Hague, SK. She married Charles Kennedy on June 5, 1956 at St. Boswell's United Church.  It was on the family farm where she faithfully and unselfishly dedicated her life to raise her family. In 1993, they retired to Swift Current. After Dad's passing in 2009, Mom continued living at The Bridal Run condo where she met daily with her coffee and Bible study friends. However, with failing health issues she spent her final few months at the Cypress House enjoying new friends and surroundings. Mary will be remembered for her devotion to faith, and her patient, loyal, and, caring love.

The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Bridgeway Community Church, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Bob Cappelle officiating. The musician for the service was Sheila Braun. “Trust and Obey”, “Amazing Grace”, “Blessed Assurance” and “How Great Thou Art” were sung by the congregation under the direction of Johnny Redekop. Tributes were shared by Carol Culp and by a Power Point Presentation. The ushers in the church were Darren Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Harold Thiessen and John Friesen. The Interment Service was held at the Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw, SK with the following serving as pallbearers, Bill Chapman, Allan Culp, Douglas Fafard, Travis Kennedy, David Neufeld and Dale Pouteaux.
