Marie (Dyck) Carson

Maria “Marie” Carson (nee Dyck), age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Castleview Care Home in Castlegar, BC. Marie was born on April 4, 1932 in Blumenhof, SK to Jacob & Maria Dyck. She received her Care Aide certificate in 1983 and worked at the Herbert Nursing Home for sixteen years. She also did private Home Care in Swift Current, SK. Marie loved to crochet, knit, and sew. She also enjoyed bowling, traveling and going to rodeos. She was especially fond of spending time with her friends and family, and had fond memories of all those she took care of as a Care Aide. Caring for and loving people was most important to her. Marie is survived by her partner and best friend, Frank Parr; her step-grandson, Nick Carson; her sister & brother-in-law, Tina & John Krahn of Swift Current, SK; her brother & sister-in-law, Peter & Clara Dyck of Coaldale, SK; her sisters-in-law, Margaret Dyck and Nellie Dyck, both of Swift Current, SK; her many nieces and nephews; her good friend, Judy Reimer; and by her many adopted family members in BC. Marie was predeceased by her first husband, Henri Martens; her second husband, Cliff Carson; her parents, Jacob & Maria Dyck; and by her siblings, Margaret Dyck, Jacob Dyck, Ben Dyck, and John Dyck. 

The Funeral Service was held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 1:30 pm from the Salvation Army Church, Swift Current, SK with Major Don Grad & Major Elizabeth Grad officiating. The pianist for the service was Arlene Olson. Scripture was read from Ecclesiastes 3:1-14. “I Come to the Garden”, “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace”. The eulogy and memories were shared by Peggy Klapstein. The Honorary Pallbearers were “All of Marie’s Friends”. The Interment Service was held at the Herbert Cemetery, Herbert, SK with the following serving as Pallbearers, Peggy Klapstein, Judy Reimer, Perry Zacharias, Eunice Peterson, Raymond Dueck, Danny Dueck and Eva Wiebe.
