Mary Larter

Mary Larter, age 78, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Herbert and District Integrated Healthcare Facility, Herbert, SK. Mary was born November 25, 1938 to Fredrick & Mary Copeland in Regina, SK. She attended school in Regina along with her brothers, Ross and Donald, where she completed her grade eight education. Mary liked to babysit and take interesting odd jobs.  On October 8, 1966, she married Leslie Larter. They had two sons, Dale and Dwight. Mary enjoyed spending time in her garden, scrapbooking, and listening to music. Though she would have loved to further her education, she took advantage of every opportunity she could to travel. Mary traveled all over Canada, sometimes camping, and went on a Caribbean cruise. She was an avid member of the Herbert Lion’s Club and participated in many community projects. Mary is survived by her husband of nearly 51 years, Les Larter; her sons, Dale Larter (Brooks, AB) and Dwight Larter (Swift Current, SK); her brothers, Ross Copeland (Regina, SK) and Donald Copeland (Regina, SK); and by her nieces and nephews. Graveside Service for Mary Larter was held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Herbert Cemetery, Herbert, SK with Rev. Linda Hall officiating. There was a time of sharing for family and friends. Psalm 23, Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, and John 14:1-6 were read at the service. A luncheon was held at the Herbert Lion’s Hall immediately following the service. In memory of Mary Larter, donations made to the Herbert Lion’s Club or the Herbert & District Integrated Healthcare Facility would be appreciated by the family.
