Murray Joseph Kraway, age 87, passed away on March 2, 2019 at The Meadows Care Home in Swift Current, SK. Murray was born in Saskatoon, SK on November 19th, 1931. Murray was the oldest child of Micheal and Verna Kryway. He has one sister Joan Swain (Kraway). He leaves behind his wife Evelyn Kraway (Gerbrandt) of 53 years. His children and spouses - Karen Wood and Larry Johnson (Linda) from his previous marriage. Murray and Evelyn had four daughters, Jacqueline Tokaryk (Tim), Catherine Vold (Maurice), Kristina Kraway (Chris) and Jennifer Kraway (John). Grandchildren: Carley, Lisa (Larry & Linda), Kandace, Dylan (Jacquie & Tim), Julianna, Allyson (Cathie & Maurice), John Jr., Ian, Cheyanne (Jennifer & John). Great Grandchildren: Parker, Presley, Piper, Paris (Carley & Scott), Rowan (Lisa & Kurt) Payton (Kandace & Cam). His sister Joan Swain, spouse Floyd (predeceased), children Laura Hasein (Dwayne), Faith Angus; child Trevor, Doug Swain; child Sharilin and Norman Wood.
During Murray's childhood he lived in Saskatoon and Meadow Lake which he loved fishing, hunting and riding his horse. He was in the Sea Cadets and Reserves as a young man. Played hockey and later in his 30’s he coached hockey in Swift Current. Murray and Evelyn met in Gull Lake in 1962. Married in Herbert, SK on November 27, 1965. They lived in Calgary until 1968 then moved to Swift Current and lived here till his death. He worked in his dad's restaurant as a young man and a few others. Then worked at CN Rail, in the Oilfield and Sales with different companies. He loved to travel, listen to all types of music (mariachi a favorite) and learning history of many cultures especially First Nation and Aztecs.
