Rita Wall

Rita Theresa Wall, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. Rita was predeceased by her parents, Martin & Elise Maruska; a niece, Connie; and by her husband, Herman, on July 10, 2015. She is survived by a brother, Johnny (Ellen) Maruska; her nieces, Sheila Maruska, Laurie (Mike), Debra (Rick), Janice Petersen; her nephews, Darren (Michelle), Kirk (Jody); her 13 great-nieces and nephews; her 4 great-great nieces and nephews; her stepchildren, Judy, Keith and Randy; and by her step-grandchildren. Rita was born on October 6, 1930, in Ponteix, SK to Martin & Elise Maruska. She grew up on the family farm near Vanguard, SK. She attended Glen View Country School, the Ponteix Convent, the Swift Current Convent, and in Vanguard for grades 9, 10 and 11. Rita remained on the farm and looked after her Dad. In 1957, Rita and her friends travelled to Europe. Rita and her Dad moved to Swift Current and lived there a short while before moving to Moose Jaw in 1973. Their mover was Herman Wall. Rita and Herman were married on December 13, 1973. Due to failing health they moved to Cypress House in Swift Current in February 2015. The family would like to thank the staff at Cypress House for her care there, and also to the hospital staff and Doctors who made her last weeks as comfortable as possible. Also a big thanks to all the friends that came to visit.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 2:00 pm from St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1064 – 3rd Ave. NW, Moose Jaw, SK. In memory of Rita Wall, donations made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
