Ryan Klassen

Ryan Klassen, age 35, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at his home in Herbert, SK. Ryan was born on October 20, 1980 in Swift Current to CJ (Cornelius) & Lorraine Klassen, the second of three children. He attended elementary and high school in Herbert, graduating in 1999. Ryan loved the Cypress Hills Provincial Park, he attended Cypress Hills Bible Camp as a camper and worked as a camp counsellor at Camp Shagabec. Though he hated hot weather, Ryan went to Mexico twice on a youth missions trip. He married Kelly Davis on December 3, 2007. Ryan gained a variety of work experience through his willingness to try anything new — he worked at a grain elevator in Grand Prairie, installed fiber-optic wiring in Grand Prairie, did custodial work at the school in Eastend, made deliveries for Gordon’s Light Delivery, and worked security with Ghost Security in Swift Current. Ryan found his true calling in 2007 when his son, Kylan, was born. Ryan, his brother Robert, Kylan, and Kelly enjoyed playing video games together. Ryan will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone in need, his sense of humor, and his soft heart. Ryan is survived by his wife, Kelly Davis; his son, Kylan Klassen; his parents, CJ & Lorraine Klassen; his sister, Rachel (Jay) Johnston – their children, Wyatt and Liberty; his brother, Robert Klassen; and by his grandmother, Anne Dyck. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Isaac Dyck, Pete & Kay Klassen, Millicent (Klassen) & Henry Morin; and by his Aunt Linda & Uncle Frank Kunze.

The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Living Faith Fellowship Church, Herbert, SK with Pastor Lincoln Vellacott officiating. The pianist for the service was Marilyn Vellacott. “Amazing Grace,” “The Solid Rock,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” were sung by the congregation. The obituary and tributes were shared by Pastor Lincoln Vellacott and by a PowerPoint slideshow. The ushers in the church were Ron Schultz, Randall Fast, Don Fast and Elvin Block. A private Interment Service will be held at the Herbert Cemetery at a later date.
