Victor Klassen

Victor Cornelius Klassen, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Herbert & District Integrated Health Facility in Herbert, SK. Victor was born November 14, 1928 to Cornelius & Anna Klassen on the family farm northwest of Herbert, SK. There, he grew up with his twelve siblings. He married Elma Elizabeth Schapansky on October 18, 1959. They farmed in Main Centre and raised five children — Greg, Lee, Brent, Angie, and Beverly. He lived his entire life on the farm, where his son, Lee, farmed with him. Victor was predeceased by his wife, Elma Klassen; his son, Greg Klassen; his parents, Cornelius & Anna Klassen; his siblings, Edward (Mary) Klassen, Irvin (Annie) Klassen, Dan Klassen, Annie (Neil) Tilitzky, Peter (Kaye) Klassen, Amanda (Bernard) Giesbrecht, Eva (Jac) Martens, Elmer (Anne) Klassen, Bertha (Milton) Leischner, and Lorent Klassen; his brothers & sisters-in-law, David Wall, Wilfred (Margaret) Schapansky, and Marj Rempel. He is survived by his children, Lee (Linda) Klassen, Brent Klassen, Angie Klassen, and Beverly (Dave) Jones; his grandchildren, Cory Himour, Dustin Himour, Lucas Himour, Craig (Ashley) Himour, Michaela Klassen, Colton Klassen, Dave Jr (Kim) Jones, Tracey (Sheldon) Lychak; his great-grandchildren, Keegan, Shane, Christian, Prudence, Gideon, Jaxton, Riley, Shaelynn and Jaelynn; his sisters, Martha Wall and Nellie (John) Penner; his in-laws, Isabel Klassen, Miriam (John) Dyck, Wayne (Diane) Schapansky,  and Fred Rempel; and by his forty-three nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 3:00 pm from the Living Faith Fellowship Church, Herbert, SK. The Private Family Interment Service was held prior to the luncheon from the Herbert Cemetery, Herbert, SK with Pastor Lincoln Vellacott officiating. Lynn Rempel, Colton Klassen, Craig Himour, Dustin Himour, Cory Himour, and Lucas Himour served as Pallbearers.
