Vivian Fitzpatrick

Vivian (Chambers) Fitzpatrick passed away on December 31, 2017 at the Cypress Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Vivian was born to Morgan & Alice Close of the Wood Mountain Area on November 13, 1925. Vivian was the youngest of three children.

Vivian was predeceased by her parents, Morgan & Alice Close; her husband, Richard Chambers; her second husband, Dennis Fitzpatrick; her brothers, Cecil and Clarence Close; and by her son-in-law, Bruce Elliott.

Vivian married Richard Chambers in Moose Jaw on April 23, 1947. Richard & Vivian were blessed with two daughters. They farmed south of Woodrow, SK until 1973. Richard passed away in 1983, and Vivian remarried in 1987 to a former childhood friend, Dennis Fitzpatrick. In 1990, Dennis passed away. Vivian suffered a stroke in 2016, leaving her in need of full-time care. Vivian lived at Cypress House in Swift Current from January 2017 until December 30, 2017.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Judy and Colleen Joan (Murray Rushoway); her nieces and their families; her cousins; and by Dennis’ son, John Fitzpatrick.

The Funeral Service for Vivian Fitzpatrick was held on Monday, January 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Swift Current Funeral Home Chapel, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Emmanuel Appiah officiating. The special music played was “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art.” The eulogy was given by Dale Armstrong, followed by a photo presentation. The Private Family Interment Service was held from Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK with David Filson, Kevin Haglund, Murray Rushoway, Brad Stevenson, Dallas Wall, and Frank White serving as Pallbearers.

In memory of Vivian Fitzpatrick, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (279-3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8) would be appreciated by the family.
