Adella Kauth

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Della Kauth (nee Hahn), age 89, on Friday, December 22, 2017, at The Meadows with family by her side. Della was predeceased by her husbands, Geo Grill and Bernard Kauth; her parents, Gus & Christine Hahn; her sister, Erna; and by her brother, Rinehart. She leaves to morn her son, Don (Linda) – his children, Paxton (Carolyn), Sadie, Nolan-Lucas; her daughter, Sheila (Ralph) – Melissa (Tom), Courtney (Steven), and her joy, Paisley, the 5th generation of girls, Dustin (Katina); her sisters, Shirley, Sebastion and Ruby Liebelt; her brother, Daryl (Shelley); her sisters-in-law, Eileen Hahn, Gladys (Kauth) Beherns; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

Adella Adelina “Della” was born on January 30, 1928, on the family farm at Hallonquist, SK. After she moved to Swift Current, she met and married Geo Grill. Della also worked for many years at the Pioneer Co-op. In 1973, she married Bernard Kauth and moved to Abbey, SK. Together they loved gardening, and looking after their big yard, camping and fishing. Clearwater was the lake of choice, but they also did many trips exploring other lakes. Della enjoyed quilting, so now all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have received the stitches done with love. She was also a talented seamstress and sewed everything from winter jackets to figure skating dresses. Socializing was always an enjoyment of Della’s. Having coffee with the girls on Monday mornings, playing cards with the 50 plus club or games with the family always brought a smile to her face. Della’s secret to staying young…walking! “It’s the best way to start the day.” 

A Private Family Burial Service will be held at a later date. In memory of Della Kauth, donations made to the Abbey United Church would be appreciated by the family.
