Alice was born on January 12, 1928 in Greenfarm, Saskatchewan to Peter and Elizabeth Penner. Her mother didn’t have a doctor to come so she attended to her birth herself. Alice was their third daughter after her sisters, Stella and Zelda. After Alice was born, came her brother Elvin, sister Verna, and brother Rieno. The four oldest went through the 30’s and although they knew they were poor, they had many good times together and the Lord always provided for their needs. One summer day in July when Alice was 6 years old, her brother Elvin, cousin Olga, and her all decided to ask Jesus to come into their lives and forgive them of their sins. They were so happy that they went to tell her mother and the others that they had just become saved. Alice graduated from Herbert High School and lived at her cousins’ place during this time. After that she went on to Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Saskatchewan, which she really enjoyed. Alice married Cecil Priebe on July 21, 1952 and they farmed in Flowing Well until 1996. They had six children, four boys and two girls. Cecil and Alice were heavily involved in the Kelstern Church from the year they were married, until 1996 when they retired in Herbert. They then became involved in a community church in Herbert and also served many years with Gideons International. Alice passed away on October 10th, 2019 in the Herbert Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. Alice leaves behind her husband, Cecil; children Darrel, Arlen, Glen, Clair, Gail, and Marlys; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; sisters, Stella and Zelda; and brother, Rieno.
