Dennis Anderson

Dennis Anderson, age 72, of Swift Current passed away peacefully at The Meadows, Swift Current, SK on Tuesday, April 11th, 2017. Dennis Darwin Anderson was born May 7th, 1944 to Charlie & Lillian Anderson in Winnipeg, MB. Dennis grew up on a farm near Rosetown, SK. He enjoyed farm life, with a faithful dog at his side or following his tractor in the field. For several years, he had a small farrow to finish pig operation. He was a good worker and took great pride in his work. In 1980, he moved to Swift Current where he worked at Sarcan for 24 years. He enjoyed his independence, mowing grass, raking leaves, and shovelling snow. Dennis was predeceased by his brother, Harley Anderson; his father Charlie Anderson; his sister, Vicky Capnerhurst; and by his mother, Lillian Anderson. Dennis is survived by his older brother, Ron (Jean) Anderson, who resides on the family farm near Rosetown; his brother-in-law, Stan (Betty) Capnerhurst, of White City, SK; and by his nieces and nephews, Darryl Anderson, Patti Neudorf, Craig Anderson, Shawn Capnerhurst, Sondra Bender, and their families. The Memorial Service was held at the Swift Current Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 with Pastor Ryan Van Reeuwyk officiating. “Amazing Grace” and “In the Garden” were sung by the congregation under the direction of Nicole Anderson. The eulogy was shared by Craig Anderson and Willie Braun. Special music was provided by Nicole and Megan Anderson, and by Wendy Wiens. A Private Family Interment will be held at a later date. In memory of Dennis Anderson, donations made to the McKerracher Support Services (Box 154, Swift Current, SK S9H 3V6) or to Canadian Mental Health Association – Swift Current Branch (176 – 4th Avenue NW, Swift Current, SK, S9H 0T6), would be appreciated by the family.
