Donna Junek

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Lyne (Wurtz) Junek, age 62, on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. Donna was raised on the family farm in Langham, SK. At the age of 19, Donna married Dale Reginald Junek and moved to Cabri, SK to build a farming life together. She enjoyed life on the farm as well as travelling, gardening, and time spent with family and friends. Donna was known by many as a kind-hearted, generous woman who was always willing to help when needed. She had a happy and full life, often sharing stories of interesting places she had been, people she had met, or adventures she had embarked on. Donna loved her family and was a devoted wife and best friend to Dale, and a loving mother to her two sons, Dallis and Jonathan. She was so proud of her sons and their accomplishments. Donna was absolutely thrilled to become a grandmother of twin girls and being a grandmother suited her well! Donna will be greatly missed by the family she leaves behind: her loving husband of 43 years Dale; her son, Dallis (Brandy) and their daughters, Calla and Kaia: her son, Jonathan; her brothers, Stuart (Marilyn), Lorne (Monika), Wallis (Sandra), and Gregory; her sisters, Lynora (Ed) Wurtz-Rosario and Chrystal (Jeff) Czank; her mother-in-law, Bertha Junek; her brothers-in-law, Kim, Roger, and Murry; as well as by her numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Olive & Danny Wurtz; her father-in-law, Reginald Junek; and by her sister-in-law, Marcy. Donna was an amazing woman who touched the lives of many, all over the world. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

The Celebration of Life Service was held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Cabri Community Hall, Cabri, SK with David Hagel officiating. “Welcome Home” and “I’ll Fly Away” were sung by the congregation under the direction of David, Paulette and Cindy. Scripture readings were read from Proverbs 31 by Peggy Junek, 1st Thessalonians 4 by Jackie Junek, and Matthew 5 by David Hagel. The eulogy was shared by Crystal Czank and a PowerPoint tribute by Dallas Junek. Special music was brought by Marilyn Faye Parney singing, “Forever in Our Hearts”. The ushers for the service were Jay Shaw, Keith Halvorson, Dennis Halvorson and Scott Undseth. The honorary pallbearers were Ann Bang, Fay Shaw, Donna Baldwin, Nancy Gummeson, Fern Bang and Betty Barker. In memory of Donna Junek, donations may be made to the Cabri Union Hospital Auxiliary or to the Canadian Cancer Society and would be appreciated by the family.
