Earl Conn Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Earl Edward Conn, age 82, of Morse, SK. Earl was the third of four children, born on May 15, 1935 in Morse, SK to Robert & Rose Conn. In 1956, Earl met the love of his life, Lenore Funk from Gouldtown, SK. They were married on November 12, 1956 and moved to Moose Jaw where Earl worked as a meat cutter at Safeway. Earl moved his family to the farm south of Morse in 1959, where he farmed until his retirement in 2007.

Earl & Lenore enjoyed their time at the farm but were driven by the desire to get all the chores done by noon on Saturday so that the family could pack up and go to the lake. Camping, fishing and watching his children and his grandchildren’s activities were all things he enjoyed to do. In addition to his farm work, he also spent 33 years as a bus driver, where he enjoyed the many smiles that came through the doors over the years. His collection of one liners is something that he will always be remembered for. Earl was an active member of the Elks, the Morse Curling Club, and the Morse Cemetery Association — where he took great pride in maintaining the cemetery grounds to perfection. Earl & Lenore have four loving children, who have blessed them with twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren throughout the years.

Earl was predeceased by his parents, Robert & Rose Conn; his step-father, Ed Conn; his brother, James Conn; and by his brothers-in-law, Alvin Funk and Ernie Hazle. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lenore Conn; his four children, Kelly (Anzele) Conn, Linda (Daryl) Weinbender, Rick (Jackie) Conn, and Carlene (Garth) Roh; his twelve grandchildren, Nelson Conn (Karine Croteau), Ashley Conn, Brittney Conn (Jodie Farrow), Dana (Carla) Weinbender, Cory (Tara) Weinbender, Lindsey (Dave) Munro, Cody Conn (Jill Cooke), Cole Conn (Katie Cannon), Matt Peters, Cole Peters (Christine Dyck), Blade Roh, and Kassidy Roh (Devon Redekop); his nine great-grandchildren, Ethan, Alex, Carter, Ashton, Jace, Charlie, Ellie, Rheece, and Zac; his siblings, Mary Hazle and Marg (Ken) Rambow; his  brother-in-law, Rueban (Mary) Funk; and by his sisters-in-law, Tillie (Don) Reimer, Phyllis (Ross) Reimer, Alfreda Sartison, and Diane Funk.

The Celebration of Life for Earl Conn was held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm from First United Church, Swift Current, SK with Rev. The ushers in the church were Terry Funk, David Funk, Barry Thiessen, and Ian Curry. The Private Interment Service was held prior to the Funeral Service from Memory Lane Cemetery, Morse, SK with all of Grandpa Conn’s Grandchildren serving as Pallbearers.
