Edwin Ralph Wallace (born March 17, 1938), from Pennant, SK passed away at The Meadows on October 23, 2019.
Edwin is survived by his wife, Caroll (married in November of 1958); his sons, Brenden (Todd) and Darren; his sister, Jessie (Ken); his brother, Earl (Thelma); his brother-in-law, Wayne (Merle); and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Edwin was predeceased by his parents, Ralph & Ella; and by his siblings, Joyce, Grace (Edgar), and James (Eleanor).
Edwin’s first job was in the Royal Bank in Cabri, SK. Through the years he gained experience in many walks of life, including a plumber with Modern Plumbing, a news writer and broadcaster with CKSW, Executive Assistant to Eiling Kramer Minister of Highways, and Special Assistant to Allan Blakeney. Edwin always wanted to farm, so on his 40th birthday he resigned from his city job and built and operated a dairy farm at Vibank, SK. In 1982, he and Caroll and Darren returned to the Pennant district to farm what was the original homestead of Lytle Yost.
Through the years his love of flying saw him graduate from a hang glider, to a paraglider, to an ultralight airplane. Many summer holidays were enjoyed at a cabin at Turtle Lake.
Special thanks to the staff at The Meadows House 5 for their patient and excellent care.
At Edwin’s request, there will be no formal funeral services.
