Ella Kaminski Obituary

Ella Kaminski (nee Dieno), beloved wife of Emil, passed away quietly at their residence in the early morning hours of June 19, 2019. Ella was born on November 8, 1925 and was the 7th child of Henry and Ottilia Dieno. Throughout her life she was a loving, caring woman of great strength and compassion. She loved and cared for her parents, siblings and all her nieces and nephews. She attended Manitou School completing grade 8, after her schooling she went to work, first as a housekeeper, childcare provider, then at the Young Co-op. When Lorraine finished school, they headed to the bright lights of Saskatoon and both got jobs in housekeeping at the Saskatoon City Hospital. Later, Ella packed up and moved to Calgary where she pursued a career in the Royal Bank learning all she could on the job and remaining there until her retirement. Ella had many hobbies, bowling, playing cards, cooking, and baking (she made the best pie crust). She loved entertaining! On June 6, 1992 she married her true love, Emil Kaminski, and they recently celebrated their 27th anniversary, many more years than either of them anticipated! Ella is survived by her wonderful husband, Emil; her sisters, Rita Smith of Weyburn, Lorraine Jensen of Regina, and Rose Shields of Niagara Falls; her sister-in-law, Bev Dieno of Saskatoon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ella was predeceased by her six brothers and two sisters.

The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Bryan Rosnau officiating. “How Great Thou Art”, and “When Peace Like A River” were sung by the congregation accompanied by Arlie Neufeld. Tributes were presented by

Ella’s nieces: Corinne Welder, Cheryl Spellicy, and Dawn Shea. The urn bearer was Robert “Bob” Jensen and her Honorary Pallbearers were her sisters, and all who shared in Ella’s life! The ushers in the church were Gord Budd and Todd Schultz. There was no interment as Ella’s wishes were to be interred with her beloved Emil. In memory of Ella Kaminski, donations to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
