Fay Meyer (nee Beswatherick) passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 — barely a month shy of her 59th birthday — at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK after a lengthy battle with cancer. Fay Elizabeth Meyer was born in North Battleford, SK on May 14, 1959 to Earl & Macy (Reddekopp) Beswatherick. The family moved to Yorkton, SK in 1960, where her siblings, Gail and Miles, were born. They lived there until 1968, then moved to Dalmeny, SK for a brief period and Warman, SK for four years before settling in Spiritwood, SK — where Fay graduated in 1977.
Upon graduation, she moved to La Ronge, SK to work as a bookkeeper for the La Ronge Co-op and stayed there until her mother’s passing in 1980. Fay moved to Dalmeny to take her Care Aide course and worked there as a care aide before going to Camrose, AB. In 1985, Fay completed her Health Care Administrator’s course and worked for a short time as the Administrator in Willow Bunch, SK. Fay met Larry Meyer through a mutual friend and they were married on November 3, 1990 and had three children — Rosalynn, Stewart, and Andrew. Fay lived on the family farm at Morse, SK until her passing.
Fay was predeceased by her parents, Earl & Mary Beswatherick; her parents-in-law; her grandparents; and by several aunts and uncles. Fay will be sorely missed by her husband of 27 years, Larry Meyer; her children, Rosalynn Meyer, Stewart (Lindsay Morgan) Meyer, and Andrew Meyer; her siblings, Gail (Gordon) Skavlebo and Miles (Nettie Funk) Beswatherick; her nephews, Josh (Ashley) Skavlebo and Zach Skavlebo; her aunts and uncles; her cousins; and by many friends.
The Celebration of Life for Fay Meyer was held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Morse Community Hall, Morse, SK with Jill Cavanah officiating and Bob Moss serving as Master of Ceremonies. Special music was brought by Chuck Weppler. The eulogy was given by Josh Skavlebo, a reading was given by Gail Skavlebo. A photo presentation was given by Rosalynn Meyer and Lindsay Morgan. The ushers in the hall were Zack Skavlebo and Nicole Poncelet.
