John N. Fehr, age 75, passed away Friday May 11, 2018 at The Meadows, Swift Current, SK. John was born November 10, 1942 in Wymark, SK — the eldest son and third child of eight born to John O. & Sarah Fehr. He attended Montford School then worked at the Co-op Creamery for thirteen years. He started off delivering milk, then later picking up bulk milk until he started farming full-time. Farming was his passion and what he lived for nearly 50 years.
John & Betty also wanted to impact lives, so they opened their home for over 40 years and were foster parents to approximately 200 kids. To quote one of the kids, "Dad was the greatest. He changed my life for the better and everyone else he took in. He will forever be missed by many." John & Betty attended Evangelical Mennonite Church — which later became Cornerstone Church — in Swift Current for over 40 years. They were also members of Gideons International In Canada for approximately two years, and for a time John held the president's position for the local chapter of the Saskatchewan Foster Families Association. He enjoyed baseball, hunting, causing trouble in "Little Korea" (Wymark) in his younger days, watching hockey, and giving grandkids rides on the quad or tractor as time went on. He was a proud grandpa and recently flew to Ontario to attend the wedding of his eldest granddaughter and present the "Fehr coveted" $100.00 kiss in April 2017. John will be remembered for his love of family, gift of gab, being "The Late John Fehr," his love for the Lord, and sharing the message of Jesus with nearly everyone he met.
John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty (Ens) Fehr; his children, Darcy Fehr, Randall (Gloria) Fehr, Gregory (Sandra) Fehr, Gordon (Naomi) Fehr, and Kimberly (Samuel) Truesdale; his grandchildren, Troy Fehr, Sean Fehr, Tiffany (David) Cairns, Brittany Fehr, Jordan Fehr, Kailey Fehr, Jacob Fehr, Luke Fehr, Rebekah Fehr, Mark Fehr, Leah Fehr, Sarah Fehr, Jesse Fehr, Joseph Fehr, Samuel Truesdale, and Elizabeth Truesdale; his siblings, Helen (Peter) Neudorf, Sue (Larry) Grose, Marian (Harvey) Engel, and Peter (Norma) Fehr; and by his nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brothers, Roy Fehr and Bill Fehr; his sisters, Verna Fehr and Betty Seib; and by his step-grandson, Tyler Eckford.
“If you meet me and forget me, you have lost nothing.
If you meet Jesus Christ and forget Him, you have lost everything.”
