Wendy Martin

Wendy Martin, age 64, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Wendy was born on March 27, 1953, in the Regina General Hospital, the second child of Andrew & Irene Corney. Wendy was predeceased by her husband, Rick Martin; her father, Andrew Corney; her brother, Andrew Corney Jr.; her nephew, Taylor Hoffart; her parents-in-law, Doug & Mae Martin; her brothers-in-law, Richard Feil and Bob Martin; her sister-in-law, Wee Karen; and by her paternal and maternal grandparents. Wendy leaves to treasure her memory, her second chance at love, Leroy Ecklund; her children, Leah (Aaron) Tait and Doug (Florlina) Martin; her three special grandchildren, Karley, Bryden, and Brynn Tait; her step-daughter, Denise Cook; her step-grandchildren, Teri, Robin, and Chance Cook; her mother, Irene Corney; her sisters, Star (Rick) Fisher, Val (Dennis) Hoffart, Andrea (Dennis) Maser, Heather (Floyd Olson) Wiebe, and Wanda (Glen) Leavins; her sisters-in-law, Terri (Jeff Torgrimson) Corney, Luanne (Ron) Schultz, and Connie (Keith) Neal; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Wendy will be sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

The Funeral Service for Wendy Martin was held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the First United Church, Swift Current, SK with Rev. Annette Taylor and Rev. Chris Dowdeswell officiating. Special music was brought by Krista Dowdeswell, who sang “In the Garden,” with Lorie Tait serving as pianist. The Eulogy and Tributes were given by Luanne Schultz, Nancy Thibault, Teri Cook, and Carrianne VanMoorlehem. The ushers in the church were Dawson Corey, Brett Horn, and Donny Duncan. The Interment Service was held from Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK with Cory Schultz, Drew Hoffart, Josh Maser, Kalin Wiebe, Mitchell Wiebe, and Chris McLaren serving as Pallbearers.
