Alex (Alexander) Leisle

Alexander “Alex” Leisle, age 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. Alex was born on April 5, 1926, in Winnipeg, MB, to Jacob & Anna Leisle. Alex and Helena Weinbender were married on October 30, 1947, and together they had four children. Alex & Helena farmed near Ernfold, SK until in 1987 they semi-retired to Swift Current, SK. Alex continued to be active on the farm for some years, with his son, Earl. In June of 2014, Alex moved to the Riverview Estates, and remained there until due to health issues in 2020, he moved to the Prairie Wind Estates in Herbert where he resided until his passing. Alex leaves to cherish his memory his son, Earl (Judy), their family - Yvonne (Greg) Nelson, Kyle (Becky) and Drew, Tamara (John) Keller – Landon and Arlan, daughter-in-law, Sharon, Corey and Sharleen (Travis); his daughter, Cheryl, her family - Brian (Celeste) Leah, Christopher, Charlise; his daughter, Laura, her family – Mark (Christina) Taliyah, Ayden and Owen; his brothers, Walter (Agnes) Leisle, Dave (Beatrice) Leisle; his sister, Martha Carlow; his brother-in-law, Bill (Michelle) Weinbender; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Martha Helena; his son, Murray; his parents; his brothers, Jacob (Emma), Henry (Christine), Fred (Muriel); his sisters, Mary (Peter) Mauer, Annie (Richard) Spate, Molly (Raymond) Ponsford, Paulene (Earl) Wilson; his brothers-in-law, Alec (Hilda) Weinbender, Fred (Mollie) Weinbender, Walter (Edith) Weinbender, Jack (Martha) Weinbender; his sisters-in-law, Annie (Jack) Schumann, Ella (Bill) McQuistan, and by Emma Deobald. The family would like to say a big thank you to the staff at the following, Riverview Estates, Prairie Wind Estates, and Cypress Regional Hospital.

The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 2:30 pm from the Swift Current Funeral Home Chapel, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Travis Heide officiating. The eulogy was shared by Yvonne Nelson with the obituary read by Tamara Keller. The Interment Service was held at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK with Family serving as pallbearers. In memory of Alex Leisle, donations made to the St. Olaf Memorial Fund, Swift Current, SK or to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice would be appreciated by the family.
