Beulah Penner

It is with heartfelt sadness the family of Beulah Maude Penner, age 82 — wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt — announce her passing on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the Prairie Healthcare Centre, Cabri, SK.

Beulah was born August 12, 1937 in Central Butte, SK to Phillip & Almeda Wilkins and was raised on the family farm in Darmody, SK — the eldest of five children. In 1954,

Beulah met the love of her life, Diedrich Penner, and they were married on July 31, 1955. They began their journey north of Glen Kerr, SK where the first of their six children were born. They then moved to Darmody, where they farmed for several years and welcomed three more children. They moved to Morse, SK in 1963, where two more children were born, completing their family.

Along with caring for and raising her family, Beulah worked as an orderly for eight years at the Herbert Nursing Home. For an additional eight years she was also the successful owner and operator of Penner’s Restaurant in Morse, SK.

Beulah was predeceased by her husband, Diedrich Penner; her infant son, Darwin Penner; her daughter, Carol Priebe; her grandson, Brendan Penner; her parents, Phillip & Almeda Wilkins; two brothers and one sister; her parents-in-law, Jacob & Aganetha Penner; and by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

Beulah will be lovingly remembered by her children, Linda (Lawrence Szeles) Penner; Dwayne (Trisha) Penner, Arnold (Dorothy) Penner, and Maxine (Scott) Gammel; her son-in-law, Glenn Priebe; she will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Tara (Aaron) Nixon, Chad Remple, Brody (Amber) Remple, Jennifer (Oscar) Larios, Justin (Nancy) Priebe, Lyndsay (Donia Lazar) Priebe, Curtis Penner, Jeff Penner, Matthew (Merrisa) Penner, Morgan (Adam) Reagan, Ryan (Riley) Dersch, and Nolan Gammel; Beulah will also be forever remembered and loved by her twenty-two great-grandchildren; her sister, Emma Penner, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

The Graveside Service for Beulah Penner was held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm from the Stone Hill Cemetery, Glen Kerr, SK with Pastor Lincoln Vellacott officiating. “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art,” and “In the Garden” were sung by those in attendance. Tributes were given by Beulah’s grandchildren and the eulogy was read by Arnold Penner.

The Pallbearers were Linda Penner, Dwayne Penner, Glenn Priebe, Arnold Penner, Maxine Gammel, and in Darwin’s memory. Honorary Pallbearers were Beulah’s grandsons.

In memory of Beulah, donations made to the Dr. Noble Irwin Foundation, designated for the purchase of new equipment for the Prairie Health Care Centre in Cabri would be appreciated by the family.
