Blair Golden

Blair Golden, age 61, passed away at his home in Swift Current on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 with family by his side

Blair Anthony Golden was born on January 7, 1961 to Dudley & Elizabeth “Betty” Golden in Regina, SK. He was the baby brother to Nancy, Ron, and Peggy.

Blair married Tammy McCrystal and Chalci May Golden was born to this union.

Later, Blair married Barb Lines and this marriage was blessed by the addition of two more children — Vaughn Anthony and Chloe Elizabeth — to complete Blair’s family.

Blair was a very hardworking and dedicated employee with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, EnerChem, Christie Mechanical, and Len’s Plumbing and Heating in turn. He always enjoyed his work families and was always up for a rum or two after work.

Blair set a quiet example by the care he took of others — from looking after Dudley and Helen to   parenting the littles when Barb worked shifts. He was very neighborly and when the snowblower was revved up, he often plowed the whole block! He was always up to lend a hand for reunion setup, hall cleaning, or anything you needed.

Blair was active in many sports throughout his life — hockey, ball, badminton, to name a few. He was a natural at any sport he turned his hand to. He was an avid Bruins fan and of course, never missed cheering on his beloved Roughriders.

If you ever needed a drive, be it long or short, you could count on Blair. He was an excellent driver and loved hitting the road. Blair loved trains and was an avid train follower. Oftentimes he could be found cruising in his truck, sipping a McDonalds coffee, and counting the trains that came through town.

After work you could always find Goldie on his back deck with friends, family, and felines — most recently, his buddy, Julius — throwing burgers on the BBQ for all, and just enjoying the company.

Blair is survived by his children, Chalci (Curtis) Dyck (their children, Daemon and Millie), Vaughn Golden, and Chloe Golden; his siblings, Ronald Golden, Peggy (Jon) Golden-Geissler, and Nancy (Ollie) Glemser; and by many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Blair Golden was held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 2:00 pm from the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Swift Current. There was a short program which was recorded, the video can be viewed here on YouTube or down below. The service card is available to view below.
