Brenda Rathwell

After a long struggle with the complications of Multiple Sclerosis, Brenda Rathwell, age 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Gull Lake Care Home, Gull Lake, SK.

Brenda Jean Rathwell was born June 26, 1949 in Shaunavon, SK — the youngest of eleven children born to Robert & Elsie (Fredrick) Wedrick. She grew up with two brothers and nine sisters.

She raised two sons, Michael and Stacy. Before MS took away her ability to walk, Brenda loved to garden, bake, and can foods to give to family and friends. She loved the country and quiet times away from crowds but was sure to also enjoy fun times with a few friends and family as well. Brenda especially enjoyed visits from nieces and nephews up at the house on the hill.

A special thank you goes out to the staff of the Gull lake Care Home for the great care and companionship they gave Brenda in the past several years during her stay there.

Brenda is survived by her children, Michael (Treena) Rathwell and Stacy Rathwell; her grandchildren, Megan, Riley, and Katie; two sisters; and by her nieces and nephews.

Brenda was predeceased by her father, Robert Wedrick; her mother, Elsie (Wedrick) Patton; her stepfather, Albert Patton; and by her two brothers and seven of her sisters.

Per Brenda's request, no formal funeral services will be held. A private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
