Brent Myhr

The family of Brent Myhr, age 61, of Swift Current are saddened to announce his sudden passing on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at his home in Swift Current, SK.

Graham Brent Myhr was born October 16, 1958 to Peder & Frances Myhr in Swift Current. After graduating high school, he worked in the oil field before venturing to Toronto to train as an underwater welder. During the training he lived for a time with his brother, Ron, and family in a hamlet north east of Toronto, ON before realizing he’d come east for the bright lights as well as the training, and not for an hour and a half commute and crying babies. He soon moved downtown, finished up his training with ease, and returned to Swift Current.

As there wasn’t a lot of underwater welding work in the drylands of the south-west, he returned to the oilfields until injuries led to another career appraisal. He trained as an accountant at SIAST in Moose Jaw, SK in the 1980’s, set up his own business, and successfully served many loyal clients in town and the surrounding area until his death. Brent was incredibly personable and would help his clients out in any way that he could.

He loved to golf and played baseball with the Beagle Boys, with whom he made lifelong friendships. What Brent loved most was spending time with his daughters, Mikayla and Cera. They went camping in Cypress every year with friends and family, making lasting memories. He had a huge heart and his daughters will always remember him as the most reliable, supportive, and best dad ever.

Brent is survived by his daughters, Mikayla and Cera Myhr (Swift Current, SK); his brothers, Ron (Catherine) Myhr (Toronto, ON) and Glenn (Catherine) Myhr (Eastend, SK); and by his friends.

Brent was predeceased by his parents, Peder & Frances Myhr; and by his brother, Rob Myhr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
