Cecil Charles Schafer

It is with great sadness that the family of Cecil Schafer announces his passing on February 7, 2025, in Swift Current, SK. Cecil is survived by his daughter Tanya (Trevor) Schmaltz and their children, Heidi and Hyley; his son Brady Schafer; and his faithful dog, Clyde.

Cecil had a passion for drag racing, restoring old vehicles, and enjoying good conversations, whether with friends or new faces. He was always up for some good old-fashioned BS. If you couldn't find him at the drag strip, he was at his farm, tinkering or building something. He would never say no to his favorite treat—ice cream shared with his dog. Cecil always left a lasting impression and a smile behind. He will forever be missed by family and friends.

Cecil was born in Prelate, Sask. He was predeceased by his parents, Barbara (Biko) and Tony Schafer, his sister Hazel Eagles, and his brother-in-law Jack Helman. He is survived by his siblings, Agnes Helman, Bernice Pointmeier (Kelly Tucker), and Jerry Schafer (Debbie).
