Clara A. Wiebe

Clara Wiebe, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, SK. Clara battled cancer during the last two years of her life.

Clara Adena Wiebe was born on September 16,1943 to John & Katherine Siemens in Herbert, SK — the youngest child of six. She took her elementary education in Main Centre, SK and graduated from high school in Herbert. After high school, she attended Bethany Bible School in Hepburn, SK for three years then moved on to study as a lab technician.

Clara and Walter Wiebe first met at the MB church where they both participated in the church choir. They married on July 11,1970 and recently celebrated 52 years of marriage. They had three sons — Duane, Doyle, and Derek — and farmed eight miles north of Herbert. Clara was involved in the MB church teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, volunteering with Pioneer Girls club, playing piano and the organ, and singing with the worship team throughout her life.

Walter & Clara moved off the farm and into Herbert when they retired from farming. Clara spent her time volunteering at the MCC store, sewing quilts, sewing MCC infant clothes, gardening, playing piano, and singing at the manor.

Clara is survived by her loving husband, Walter Wiebe; her son, Duane (Michele) Wiebe and their children, Caleb, Noah, Joel, and Chloe; and by her son, Doyle (Sherry) Wiebe and their children, Jenaya (Nolan), Gracien, Reagen, Alia, Cole, Isaac, Kinley, and Morgan.

Clara was predeceased by her youngest son, Derek Wiebe; her parents, John & Katherine Siemens; her sisters, Mary Baynes and Linda Froese; and by her brothers, John Siemens and Herman Siemens.

Clara will be remembered by her beautiful smile and cheerful disposition as well as her gentle and kind spirit. She entered into the arms of her Savior, whom she loved and served all her life.

The Funeral Service for Clara Wiebe was held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm from Grace Community Church, Herbert, SK with Pastor Brent Hackney officiating. “How Great Thou Art,” “To God Be the Glory,” “Glorify Thy Name,” and “All Hail the Power of Jesus Name” were sung by the congregation under the leadership of Henry Braun, with Ruth Newton serving as pianist. The eulogy was given by Duane Wiebe. The tribute was given by Sherry Wiebe. The Scripture reading was I Corinthians 13:4-8. The ushers in the church were Jerry Holfeld and Ken Mathies. The Private Family Interment Service was held prior to the Funeral Service from the Herbert Cemetery, Herbert, SK with Caleb Wiebe, Noah Wiebe, Cole Wiebe, Steve Wiebe, Ryan Wiebe, and Daryle Priebe serving as Pallbearers.
