Cody Miller Obituary

Cody Miller, aged 19, passed away suddenly on Wednesday June 24, 2020 near Waldeck, Saskatchewan.

Cody was born to Roger and Annette Miller on September 19, 2000 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

Cody is survived by his mother, Annette Miller, his father, Roger Miller and his bonus mom, Andrea Miller. Cody also leaves behind his sisters, Brittney Miller, Alyssa Miller (Lane Greenwood), Eden Stevenson, and Jael Stevenson; his grandfather, Robert Bowler (Jocelyn Bowler); his grandmothers, Paulette Miller (Don Kelln) and Denise Koshman (John Koshman); numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Cody was predeceased by his grandfather, Glen Miller and his dog, Cheeko.

Cody was raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, attending elementary school at St. Michaels Catholic School and high school at Riverview Collegiate. In 2017, Cody moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan with his father where he completed his education at Swift Current Comprehensive High School. Upon graduation in 2019, Cody moved to Edmonton, Alberta, to live with his mother. Cody worked jobs in the landscaping and yard care industry, returning to the Swift Current area three weeks before he passed.

Cody freely and constantly gave his time to friends and loved ones, which further developed into a passion for giving to local organizations such as the Family Resource Centre, where Cody completed volunteer work through the work experience program at Swift Current Comprehensive High School. Upon Cody’s return to Saskatchewan, he hoped to go back to the Family Resource Centre to continue his work towards a career in helping people with a focus on working with children.

In Cody’s spare time he enjoyed gaming with his friends, meeting up at the local McDonald’s for poutine, playing grounders in the park, and travelling. Cody was able to travel with friends and family to Disney World, the Tampa Bay Area, Mexico, and Cuba multiple times; as well as domestic travel to Ottawa, and the Calgary and Banff area.

Cody was kind, compassionate, and fiercely protective of his four sisters. He will be remembered for his bear-hugs, smirky grin, and driving his sisters crazy.

A Private Service to celebrate Cody’s life was held on Monday, July 13, 2020 at East Side Church of God, Swift Current with Pastor Kevin Snyder officiating.

Cody was very proud of his blended family and will deeply missed by his dad and step-mom, Roger & Andrea; his mom and her partner, Annette & Steve; his sisters, Brittney and Alyssa; and his step-sisters, Jael and Eden.
